Our Mission
Mission Statement: "Pastor K Ministries exists to incarnate the love of Jesus in Detroit's 48214 neighborhood through faithful presence, relational investment, and practical service."
We believe real change doesn't happen through programs alone. It happens through presence. Through knowing names. Through showing up again and again.
Through relationships built on trust, dignity, and time.
We're not here to fix people. We're here to walk with our neighbors--and stay.
How This Began
Pastor K Ministries grew out of years of relational ministry and lived experience, now rooted in Detroit's 48214.
Over time, it became clear that many people weren’t lacking services, but consistent, relational support.
Resources exist across the city, but many neighbors don’t know about them, can’t access them, or don’t have someone willing to walk with them through the process.
PKM was formed in response to that gap: to be rooted in the neighborhood, to build trust over time, and to walk alongside neighbors in ways that reflect the love of Jesus.
What We’re Building
Our Commitment
We are committed to long-term, neighborhood-rooted presence in Detroit’s 48214.
Through consistent presence, practical care, and trusted relationships, we walk with neighbors navigating homelessness, housing instability, and limited access to resources.
We don’t operate from a program-first model.
We believe lasting change grows through trust, consistency, and walking alongside people over time.
Our work often begins with simple, dignity-centered care—meals, supplies, and connection—but it doesn’t stop there.
As relationships grow, space opens for deeper support, guidance, and pathways toward stability.
Our Approach
We focus on a small geographic area so we can show up consistently with the same people over time.
We believe trust is built through familiarity—returning again and again, not just once. This kind of presence allows relationships to grow naturally, creating space for mentorship, spiritual conversation, and practical next steps.
We are not trying to replace existing services in Detroit.
We work alongside them—helping bridge the gap between available resources and the people who need them.
